The Tedex throatlash can be used as a replacement part for Tedex driving bridle or sizes can be mixed to get a better fit in your bridle.

What is a Throatlash?
The throatlash in a driving bridle is very important, far more so than in a riding bridle. A driving bridle is typically much heavier than a riding bridle and could be more easily shacken off. This coupled with our tendency to drive native ponies with small ears and large manes can increase the chances of the bridle being shacken or rubbed off. Obvisouly the removal of the bridle for any reason whilst the pony is attached to a vehicle can have catastrophic results. To prevent accidents, alwasy ensure that the throatlash is correctly adjusted to prevent the bridle coming off. Cut a wide bridle path for the headpiece to sit in for the comfort of the horse and to improve fit. As an added precaution you can take a piece of forelock and a piece of mane and plait the two together over the top of the headpiece, thus making it all but impossible for the bridle to accidentally come off. Always ensure that your groom or helper, fully understand the consequences of removing the bridle at the wrong time!
